To negotiate is a specific, yet everyday activity we engage within. Especially in the academic world, you negotiate regularly.
This workshop focuses on the techniques needed and the principles relevant for negotiating and arguing efficiently and constructively.
Starting from your very own situation, context, and your typical or relevant problems, we will work hands-on on what to focus on in these interactions, how to approach topics and how to handle difficult situations in a negotiation.
You will find many opportunities to engage in practical exercises during the workshop, in which you can apply the concepts and information presented.
Qualification Outcomes
After this workshop, you will be able to
- React to difficult situations and demanding replies or offers.
- Find productive options within tough topics.
- Argue transparently and yet productively in a negotiation.
Methods
Trainer input, hands-on exercises (individual and in small groups), group dicussions, "case" work
Requirements
To participate in the online event you need a PC/laptop with a current browser (recommended: Chrome or Firefox) as well as a headset (or speakers and microphone), a webcam plus a stable Internet connection.
Proficiency in English at the B2 level of competency is required.
