Introduction to Research Data Management in Agricultural Sciences

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is specifically aimed at researchers from the Faculty 11 of the University of Kassel. Interested researchers of other faculties are also welcome.

What topics will be discussed?

In this initial introductory lecture, you will learn why and how conscious management and publication of your data can be advantageous for you and your future research endeavors. Therefore, we will first provide an overview of the key aspects of handling your research data. You will become familiar with the general concepts of Research Data Management (RDM) and learn about tools and services that can assist you in managing your agricultural research data throughout its lifecycle.

We will provide insights into the work of FAIRagro on a data infrastructure that makes data from agro-system research findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR). Additionally, we will introduce tools and services provided by the University of Kassel.

What happens next?

After this introductory session, participants are invited to vote for up to two topics related to RDM that they would like to learn more about. We will then offer in-depth interactive workshops on these topics.

Who is offering the workshop?

The workshop is a collaboration between FAIRagro and the Forschungsdaten-Service of the University of Kassel.

What do you need to participate?

A computer with internet access, webcam, and microphone.

The introductory lecture will be held in english.
