Is it difficult for you to find space and time for your PhD project within your stressful everyday life?
With the "Writing Café for doctoral candidates", the Graduate Academy offers you the opportunity to retreat for a few hours on the second Friday of every month and have space for writing.
Doctoral candidates can get into writing using the Pomodoro technique and find time & space to work on their dissertation or next article without outside interference. During the breaks, there is time for exchange over coffee/tea or a joint lunch on campus.
The writing café is an offer for everybody. Registering for the event is not obligatory, but it would help the planning process so there will be enough coffee/tea available. Interested persons can join the writing café at any time or leave earlier, with consideration for the other participants taken into account.
Attention - Writing Café Special
The Writing Café in July will take place at the Wilhelmshöher Allee site with the support of the Department of Power Electronics. The schedule remains the same. Afterwards, from around 15:45, you will have the opportunity to take part in a 30-minute guided tour of the department's experimental setups.
Rough schedule/writing phases:
09:00 Welcome/ setting writing goals.
09:15 4x Pomodoro (25min writing time and 5min break each)
11:10 20min break
11:30 2x Pomodoro
12:30 Lunch break
13:30 4x Pomodoro
15:25 Finish
15:45 Guided tour
