Target group:
  • Doctoral candidates

When going to write a thesis at the University of Kassel you are obliged to hand in an exposé, no matter of your discipline nor whether you are going to write a monographic or a cumulative dissertation. Further to this formal request an exposé is a powerful tool for clarifying
your research project both for yourself and for your supervisors.

In general, an exposé of a scientific research project follows a more or less standardized structure. You are expected to give an overview about your approach, the focus and the disciplinary relevance of your work as well as about the methodological design and your working plan. In other words, the basic question an exposé should answer to is: „What is the aim of your study and how will you achieve it?“

The workshop supports the participants in realising their planned work project according to the requirements of the doctoral regulations for an exposé of the University of Kassel.  In addition to theoretical input, you will also have the opportunity to draft an initial exposé on your project, which can then serve as a basis for further elaboration.
