In order to help doctoral candidates focus on their academic writing projects, we have organized a writing retreat at the university's beautiful Bootshaus. Surrounded by nature and at a distance from everyday distractions, doctoral candidates have the opportunity to focus solely on improving their writing skills and progress their writing projects.
The morning sessions of the Writing Week consist of short workshops covering important aspects of academic writing: writing phases and writing strategies, text planning, self-organisation in academic writing, the introduction and conclusion academic writing, and the role of AI in academic writing. The workshops consist of trainer input and various writing and reflection exercises that are related to your current writing project (e.g. your dissertation).
After the lunch break, you will have time to work on your text (e.g. your dissertation or an article), by yourself or in a group or a tandem. You will also have the opportunity to have a one-to-one consultation (45 minutes) with the workshop instructor on issues related to your current writing project.
